This cabinet photograph appears to depict a colour-sergeant instructor of the 2/the King's Shropshire Light Infantry. He may have been attached to an Indian Army Volunteer Reserve unit at the time he was photographed, The photo was one of a number of images of members of the battalion acquired as a group.
A veteran of the Anglo-Boer War as evidenced by the Queen's South Africa Medal ribbon on his c. 1903 pattern khaki drill frock.
