Above: Kitted out in his mess dress uniform, this sergeant appears to have been a member of a rifle battalion/regiment. Unfortunately, the badge on his field cap is too indistinct to make out.
The readily apparent soft focus and somewhat grainy appearance of the image may indicate that it was in fact a copy negative made from a previously exposed print.
