Roughly trimmed to fit a frame this hand-colored image depicts a young subaltern of the 64th Regiment of Foot. He wears the blue, double-breasted 1855 pattern undress uniform and holds an 1822 pattern officer's sword. His 1855 pattern forage cap bears the regimental number in brass.
