3 Brothers Transvaal.png

Three young brothers dressed in military uniform were photographed probably sometime just after the Anglo-Boer War. The two elder boys wear complete uniforms while the youngest at right wears what may be his school sweater. He also carries a bugle with no mouthpiece. Based on the rather unique looking pagris on their hats they may have been the sons of a man serving is a South African colonial unit rather than a regular British regiment. The eldest boy at the center wears a single collar badge which cannot quite be made out in detail.

The boys intended the photo as a gift as it is inscribed on the reverse side "Auntie Amy".
