A Japanese Infantryman from the time of the Boxer Rebellion of 1900 or Russo-Japanese War
of 1905.
Fully kitted out for field service, he stands outdoors and is ready to charge the contents of a five-round stripper clip into the magazine of his Type 30 Arisaka rifle. His tunic and trousers were blue with red piping and facings. Rather oddly, the piping and band on his forage cap would have been yellow.
Interestingly he wears what appears to be either a compass or wristwatch on his right wrist.
