Taken to commemorate her Golden Jubilee in 1887 this superb Cabinet photograph portrays the Queen in the regalia of  Empress of India. When one thinks of Queen Victoria this is the classic image that comes to mind.

The reverse pictured below shows that even at the height of her regal powers and popularity Victoria was not immune from being exploited for profit and personal gain. She in effect has become the cover girl on a menu for an inexpensive (cheap to use their own word!) restaurant.
