Michael Caine as Lt. Gonville Bromhead, 24th Foot in the classic 1964 film Zulu which depicts the Battle of Rorke's Drift that was fought on the 22nd and 23rd of January, 1879.

 

Even with its share of historical inaccuracies, this movie would probably be considered the most popular of all films dealing with Queen Victoria's imperial wars, both large and small.

 

Caine's portrayal of Lt. Bromhead would be his first billed starring role.
