Above: Replicating an 1881 five button other ranks frock, this film wardrobe item (and accompanying accoutrements) was used in the 2002 film production off The Four Feathers.

Intended to represent the uniform of the fictitious Royal Cumbrian Regiment, it is outwardly a fairly accurate representation of an 1881 frock as issued to a "Royal" regiment as evidenced by the dark blue "Jam Pot" cuffs and collar

The frock is made from a velour type material that was probably intended to pass on screen as wool serge. The buttons are hollow back cast replicas of Victorian general service buttons.

The "buff leather" equipment is actually made from thick white material which passes as the real thing rather convincingly on screen. The belt clap is a modern example.

The Italian style water bottle is of soft poly foam molded from an original water bottle. The bottle's harness is heavy cotton web material.

Parts missing from the ensemble include ammunition pouches, expesne ppouch, haversack, and great coat/blanket.
