A other ranks kurta of the fictitious 41st Bengal Lancers as used during the filming of The Lives of a Bengal Lancer circa 1935. Finely constructed of wool by the Paramount Studio's atelier for use in the film, it utilizes real, pre-World War II British army general service buttons as well as real British cavalry chainmail sholder chains that carry hand made white metal "41L" badges of the fictious 41st Bengal Lancers.
Set on the Northwest Frontier of British India, the film stared Gary Cooper in the lead role with a supporting cast that included Franchot Tone and C. Aubrey Smith.
