Three veteran British soldiers posed at the Hong Kong Studio sometime around 1900. The three men are unidentified and no badges identifying their regiment can be seen.

All three men had previously seen active service in the field as evidenced by the ribbon for what appears to be the India General Service Medal that each wear.  Additional all three bear one good conduct stripe on the left cuff of their khaki frocks.

The man at left wears a drummer's badge on the upper part of his right sleeve. The man at right wears a single chevron on his upper right sleeve indicating his appointment as lance corporal.

their foreignservice helmets rest on the studio floorin front of them.
