Liverpool Colour-Sergeant.png

Wearing what appears to be the Volunteer's Long Service & Good Conduct Medal (VLS&GCM), this kilted Colour Sergeant was a member of the 8th Battalion "Liverpool Scottish", the King's Liverpool Regiment. The 8th Battalion was raised in 1900, so this veteran Colour-Sergeant must have served for a good number of years in one or more volunteer units prior to joining the Liverpool Scottish.  His VLS&GCM was only awarded after twenty years of exemplary service in the Volunteers.
