Cabinet Photograph
Bourne & Shepherd - Photographer
Simla, Calcutta & Bombay, India
c. 1890s
Based on his crossed axes collar badges, this unnamed colonel appears to have been an officer of pioneers in the Anglo-Indian Army. Unfortunately, there is not enough information in
the photograph to identify precisely which regiment of pioneers he may have commanded.
His medal ribbons seem to include the Second Afghan War Medal and the Egypt Medal and Khedive's Star. The 128th Pioneers were entitled to these same medals but his possible
connection to the 128th is purely supposition.
