ASC Sergeant and Family.png

A veteran saddler sergeant of the Army Service Corps with his wife and four daughters. Above his chevrons is his trade badge in the shape of a horse's bridle.

He wears four medals the first of which is the 1877-79 South Africa Medal for service in the Anglo- Zulu War. This medal bears the single clasp that in all likelihood read "1879". The next medal is the Egypt Medal with one clasp. Next is what appears to be the Long Service & Good Conduct Medal and the last being the Khedive's Star.
