I have always been struck by the modernity of this couple. They do not look - at least to me - like people who lived over 100 years ago. He is a private in the Army Service Corps who appears to be outfitted for mounted duties and seems to have a book (or flask?) tucked into the inside pocket of his five-buttoned frock. Two good conduct stripes can be seen on his left cuff.
She wears a large "sweetheart" pin on her tie in the shape of the Army Service Corps badge.
The baby looks as contented as its parents do.
