A boy soldier of the Royal Fusiliers. I believe that this photograph depicts a boy solider of the Royal Fusiliers (City of
London Regiment) as opposed to a soldier's son dressed in a costume by his father. Everything about his uniform
visible on his shoulder straps and the absence of  any other insignia on the straps - such as the volunteer's "V"
emblem or a "2" for the second battalion leads me to believe that this boy was attached to the 1st Battalion of the
Royal Fusiliers.

The image can be dated to between 1893 and 1895 since the photographer Fox & Hill were active at their Crouch Hill
address between those years.
