Seated at far right, this veteran (wearing his single clasp Egypt Medal and Khedive's Star) is pictured with what appears to be his extended family, seemingly his two brothers and their three respective wives with their
children and pet dog.

Was this man one of Wolseley's Canadian boatmen who strove so hard to reach Khartoum before it's fall or was he a British soldier who emigrated to Canada with his family after service?
