Signed with what looks to be the name "C. L. R. Glasford", this photograph appears to shows what appears to be a young officer from an as yet unidentified cavalry regiment. His mail shoulder chains bear a single indistinct rank badge.

After reviewing ten years worth of army lists (1889-1899) I found one name match, a Charles L. R. Glasford of the Bombay Staff Corps, who unfortunately was already a major general by 1881 and died c. 1888 so could not possibly be the man in this photograph.
