An early tinted image of a member of the London Scottish Rifle Volunteer Corps which was first raised in 1859. The image dates from around the mid-1860s and illustrates - with the
help of the hand tinting - some interesting details of the Corps uniform.  This includes the blue tape across the chest of the uniform coat
, blue facings at the collar, cuffs and blue stripes
along the outside seams of the trousers
. The uniform was overall Hodden gray. The cuff braiding appears to have been primarily white with a smaller accent of blue piping along its
