Wearing his tropical white uniform this Staff Sergeant of the 1st Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers poses with his wife. She wears on her wrist one of the earliest representations of a wrist watch that I have ever seen. In her hand she holds some sheet music of which part of the title can be read: "Oh! Oh! Hear the...". I believe this music is in fact Oh! Oh! Hear the Wind Blow, The Italian Boatman's Song written by T. Mattei and M. Foli. Cabinet Photograph P.
