
| This soldier appears to be a member of the Hong Kong Artillery and Rifle Volunteer Corps. He wears what looks to be the 1892 East and West Africa Medal with a single clasp. This would indicate him serving with the regulars before ending up in Hong Kong. The second medal appears to be the 1900 China War Medal without clasps which was awarded to the Hong Kong Volunteers for service during the so-called Boxer Rebellion of 1900. Cabinet Photograph A.
