| A veteran of General Frederick Roberts epic march from Kabul to Kandahar during the 2nd Afghan War (1878-80) this unidentified captain of the 2nd Battalion, the Shropshire Light Infantry wears miniature versions of the Afghanistan Medal and the Kabul to Kandahar Star. At the time of the war the 2nd Battalion was known by its old designation of the 85th Regiment of Foot, The King's Light Infantry.
