An interesting photograph of a Life Guards Trumpeter taken sometime around the end of the Anglo-Boer War in
1902. It is unusual to find a photograph of a member of the Guards in full regalia taken in a colonial outpost. The
monogram of King George V on his tunic helps date the photograph. There is - at least to my eyes - no indication as
to weather this man was a member of the 1st or 2nd Life Guards. Both regiments saw service in South Africa at this
time.
