2nd Lieutenant Alexander McDonnell Moore of the 89th Regiment of Foot/2nd Battalion, Princess Victoria's Royal
Irish Fusiliers.

Moore joined the 89th while it was stationed Bombay, India and  had the above photo taken just prior to his battalion
- now the 2nd/Royal Irish Fusiliers - shipping out for the Sudan during the Gordon Relief Expedition in 1884 where he
took part in the battles of Teb, Tamai, the relief of Tokar and the affair at Tamanieb.
Egypt Medal w/Clasp & Khedive's Star

Serving is West Africa he was in command of the attack on Tambi on 14 March 1892 where he was wounded and at
the capture of Tambi on 7 April. Commander of the Panguma column during the Sierra Leone Protectorate
Expedition of 1898-9 he was again wounded.
Queen's West Africa Medal w/ Clasp

In command of the 2nd Battalion, Royal Irish Fusiliers during the Boer War Moore took part in Operation in Natal,
the Relief of Ladysmith, Colenso, Tugela Heights, Pieters Hill, the Transvaal, Cape Colony,and the Orange River.
Queen's South Africa Medal w/4 clasps & King's South Africa Medal w/2 Clasps

Recalled to service as a Draft Conducting Officer during World War One with the rank of Major, he served in
France with the 4th Battalion, the Royal Irish Regiment.
1914-15 Star, British War Medal, World War One Victory Medal.

A date on his WWI Medal index card seems to indicate that he died in September 1930.
