| A veteran Royal Engineers Sergeant. His turban indicates that he may have been attached to an Indian Army regiment or perhaps he was simply having fun. He wears the ribbons of the India General Service Medal and what appears to be the Long Service and Good Conduct Medal. His sword appears to be of a non-regulation type for an British NCO. The setting and backdrop are outstanding a seeming hallmark of this photographer. Cabinet Photograph F. B. Stewart - Photographer India c 1890's |
