A veteran Royal Engineers Sergeant. His turban indicates that he may have been attached to an Indian Army
regiment. He wears the ribbons of the India General Service Medal and what appears to be the Long Service and
Good Conduct Medal. His sword appears to be of a non-regulation type for an British NCO which again could hint to
him having been seconded to an Indian unit.  The setting and backdrop are outstanding, almost theatrical and a
seeming hallmark of this photographer.
