This Cabinet Photograph is a classic example of how subject matter can out weigh condition or the anonymity of the sitters. Here we have two unidentified privates of an unknown regiment. Standing behind them is what must be their servant who seems somewhat doubtful about having his picture taken. At the soldier's feet are their pet dog who is sitting up proudly for the camera and their pet monkey who looks a little bored with the whole affair.
