| A cyclist from an unidentified rifle battalion from around the turn of the 20th Century. It is hard to know if he was what would be termed a "military cyclist" or a rifleman who was posing with the symbol of his hobby. Around this time many units had specialized cyclist sections which were to be used in much the same way that traditional mounted infantry was employed. This man's bicycle does not have the usual rifle bracket attached to the frame of the bicycle. He could have been a member of a regular rifle battalion such as the Rifle Brigade or the King's Royal Rifle Corps or a volunteer rifle unit. Cabinet Photograph G.
