| Tyrone Power costumed as Captain Alan King in King of the Khyber Rifles. The film was something of a remake of The Black Watch (1929) in which a half-caste officer (Power) must deal with racial prejudice, love and rebellious tribesmen on India's North West Frontier in the mid 1800's. The film was shot in the Owens Valley/Alabama Hills region of central California which has probably doubled for the North West Frontier/Khyber Pass region of India more that any other geographic region on Earth. It did so most famously in Gunga Din (1939) Power wears a single clasp Crimean War campaign medal on his costume tunic.
