This forlorn looking man for all appearances looks to be a P.O.W. in British custody. He is wearing a distinctly
military-looking uniform that is covered with British broad arrow marking which denote crown property. His hands
are tightly bound with shackles. The number which appears on his shirt could be a serial number or possibly a date.
He looks to be of Middle Eastern or Mediterranean extraction.  There is no information on the card mount other
that a very faded title on the lower left hand corner which is unreadable even after digital enhancement. There is
the possibility that this man could be a prisoner of the civil authorities.
