This Real Photo Post Card was bought as a souvenir at the Chelsea Flower Show, 20 May, 1915 or so states the ink inscription on the reverse. It depicts one W. Adams who was the last surviving veteran of the Punniar Campaign of 1843-45 and was taken on 25 July, 1914 when he was a 92 year old Chelsea Pensioner. Next to the Gwalior Star he wears was looks to be the Sutlej Medal for the 1st Sikh War of 1845-46.
Additional information kindly provided by RQMS John Rochester of the Royal Hospital Chelsea states that Adams became a Chelsea Pensioner on 1 April, 1892 having left active service on 23 March, 1847 - almost 50 years earlier! He was a former member of the 50th Regiment of Foot and died on 25 October, 1916 at the ripe old age of 93
