| A mounted Woodburrytype photograph taken from The South African Campaign of 1879 by MacKinnon and Shadboldt of Louis Napoleon, the Prince Imperial of France. He was killed in action on 31 may, 1879 In this image he appears to be wearing the mess-dress uniform of the Royal Artillery. The photograph may have been taken after his graduation from the Royal Military Academy while holding an honorary lieutenancy during manoeuvres in 1875.
