| A company sized British square under attack in Merian C. Cooper's 1929 production of The Four Feathers. This version of the film starred Richard Arlen as Harry Faversham, Clive Brooke as Lt. Jack Durrance, William Powell as Capt. William Trench and Fay Wray as Ethne Eustace. The 1929 version of The Four Feathers would be Paramount's last big budget silent film. Under close examination the British troops in this photograph are armed with U.S. 45/70 Trapdoor Springfield rifles.
