Corporal Paul Montanaro of the Troupes d'Marine (French Marines). The reverse inscription includes the
somewhat cryptic "16th Colonial 1st Cie (company?) Arsenal de l'Est" and may indicate that he was a member of
the 1st Company, 16th Regiment, Troupes d'Marine, Army of the East.
