| A member of the 22nd Battalion (14th Corps) Chasseurs Alpin - France's elite mountain troops. He wears the Chasseurs' distinctive beret and carries their unique crook shaped staff. Mr. Maurice Alexander, whose grandfather served in the Alpins informs me that the braided cuff bands on this soldier's uniform indicates that he was Battalion Hornist/Bugler. Carte de Viste J.
